It took me about a month to break the Nike Bauer One95 skates in. When I first stepped onto the ice with them I felt like I was wearing ski boots or something. They were SO stiff. Skating was a little awkward. However, since, they have been so great. I’m a smaller forward and I play almost every day. I pride myself on my skating skills. These hockey skates really provide me with the lasting support I need. If you have the money to buy these skates, I would definitely recommend them. They are feather-light and feel great.
The only negative I have about the skates is the LS2 runners that come on them. They are longer than typical runners that come on the Tuuk. They are supposed to add to your speed, I guess? But I found they made my edge work difficult. Sharp turns and quick edge work were just not the same for me, so I had the old Lightspeed tuuk and runners put on them. This made them into the perfect hockey skate.
One of my teammates, who is a big defensemen, also bought the skates and he really liked the longer runners. He claims they work better for players like him. |
